Since the age of three, Kaori has lived in a bookstore that exists where the mortal realm and the spirit realm meet. Her adoptive father, a spirit himself, shares this magical space with her. One day, she encounters a bleeding young man who has wandered into the spirit realm, much like she did as a small child. Even though he is an exorcist sworn to take revenge on all spirits, Kaori chooses to act with kindness and helps him find his way back home.
