Hoshi wa Miteiru

A dozen years have gone by since the war concluded. Mayumi Sugimoto, whose father perished in the atomic bombing, resided with her ailing mother on the outskirts of Hiroshima. But after their home burned down and her mother succumbed to illness, Mayumi found herself alone and moved to Tokyo to stay with her aunt. The only thing Mayumi has left is the ring her mother left behind. Yet this ring conceals a major secret: it can reveal the location of a treasure her father hid. A man named Kurohara is chasing Mayumi, intent on stealing the ring. When Mayumi goes back to Hiroshima to see her closest friend Sachiko, who is hospitalized with radiation sickness, she is abducted by Kurohara's henchmen and her ring is taken. Plunged into despair after Sachiko's death and the loss of the ring, Mayumi encounters a mysterious man whose face is wrapped in bandages.
