Once thought extinct after a prehistoric asteroid impact, dinosaurs were only known from fossils until 1946, when live specimens were discovered on the remote Barakan Island. Using genetic engineering, dinosaurs were brought back, sparking global dinomania. That excitement faded after a tragic accident caused a human death. Public interest in dinosaurs has waxed and waned since, but Suzume Suma, now 24, has always dreamed of working closely with them. She lands her ideal job as a dinosaur caretaker at Enoshima Dinoland. The park, struggling with low attendance due to the past incident, faces shortages of staff and funds. Although Suzume has trouble keeping pace with colleagues Karin Kirishima and Kaitou, she remains determined to revive public fascination with dinosaurs.
