In "Yagami-kun no Katei no Jijou," high schooler Yūji Yagami faces an unusual family situation: his mother Nomi looks so young that he has developed romantic feelings for her. To make things more complicated, his homeroom teacher has also fallen for Nomi because of her youthful appearance. What Yūji and his teacher do not realize is that Nomi is head over heels for her husband Yōji, and she often shows her affection in public, leaving Yūji mortified. Yūji's classmates constantly mock him for what they call a "mother complex." But on Valentine's Day, Yūji gets a homemade chocolate with a nametag that could be interpreted as either the male name Masayuki Ikari or the female name Mayuki. His friends keep teasing him all day, expecting him to meet someone named "Masayuki" after school. Much to everyone's surprise, the person who gave him the chocolate is actually a girl named Mayuki. She begins walking home with Yūji, and eventually they start dating. As their relationship develops, Yūji must face his own feelings and get past his "mother complex."
