On the day he returns from summer break, high schooler Aoba finds himself attacked by a giant robot that descends from the sky. While fleeing through the city, his classmate Hina saves him in her own robot, cryptically telling him that "Dio is expecting you" before vanishing. This event forces Aoba to become a pilot for the Free Treaty Alliance in their war against the Great Zogilia Republic.
