Van, the son of a famed Zoid pilot in his village, struggles to measure up to his father's legacy. He has difficulty even handling a Zoid, but his fate changes when he comes across a wild scorpion-type Zoid chasing him. While escaping from the beast, he stumbles upon an ancient ruin by accident.
