Hakaba Kitaro

Kitaro, a yokai boy born in a graveyard, is the last living member of the Ghost tribe besides his mostly decayed father. He is missing his left eye, but his hair usually hides the empty socket. He strives for peace between humans and yokai, typically by protecting the former from the schemes of the latter. Published between 1959 and 1964, this manga is the original Kitaro story that a few years later would become the basis for the more well-known and popular manga and anime "Gegege no Kitaro."
