For ages, humanity has been locked in conflict with the Fallen, demonic beings exiled to the Barrens due to their crimes. When the Fallen king, Azazel, is taken captive by imperial hunters under General Mu Ryang's command, the general discovers that Azazel is far from the heartless monster depicted in folklore. Instead, Azazel displays concern for his fellow Fallen, who have been mercilessly hunted by humans, and even volunteers his own capture to guarantee their safety. This revelation forces Mu Ryang to reconsider who the true sinners are, while Azazel intends to exploit the general's shifting mindset to turn him against Crown Prince Jeong Jin, aiming to bring an end to centuries of warfare.
