After being abandoned in the forest, Tamao was saved by Master and lived with him until he abruptly departed, leaving her at a relative's home with a promise to return someday along with a bell. Eight years later, Tamao still lives there, waiting for his return. Sengo, the son of the household where she stays, has fallen for her. Although he is popular with the girls and tries to win Tamao's affection, he has not succeeded. Just as Sengo steps up his efforts, Master reappears, looking exactly as he did eight years ago. His true identity is now uncertain, and Sengo must navigate his feelings for Tamao in the face of Master's unexpected return.
