Wish

One evening on his way home from work, Shuuichirou Kudou spots a small winged creature caught in a tree branch. After freeing it, the creature reveals itself as Kohaku, an angel from Heaven. Thinking it was just a dream, Shuuichirou goes home, barely giving the event a second thought. The next day, Kohaku reappears in Shuuichirou’s garden, now in their true form, and offers to grant him one wish in thanks for his help. Feeling satisfied with his life, Shuuichirou refuses. Kohaku then decides to stay with him, waiting until he desires something only they can provide. Kohaku gradually becomes accustomed to their peaceful life with Shuuichirou, but complications arise when the mischievous devil Kouryuu and their underlings start causing trouble, making their time on Earth difficult. Furthermore, Kohaku must locate the missing archangel Hisui to avoid being permanently banished from Heaven alongside them.

Background

Wish was published in English by Tokyopop from August 27, 2002, to February 11, 2003. After the company was dissolved, Dark Horse Comics gained the publishing rights and republished the series in a complete omnibus volume on January 30, 2019. It was also released in French by Delcourt; in German by Carlsen Comics; in Italian by Edizioni Star Comics; in Polish by Japonica Polonica Fantastica; in Brazilian Portuguese by Editora JBC; and in Spanish by Grupo Editorial Vid and Norma Editorial.
