In "Beach Stars," Nanase Iruke is a short, tomboyish girl who devotes herself entirely to volleyball. On her 17th birthday, her school's volleyball club is suddenly disbanded, leaving her disheartened. She and her teammates go to the beach, where they come across beach volleyball. Eager to play, Iruke dashes onto the court but is quickly brushed off by a local Volleyball Diva because of her small stature. Angered by this, Iruke takes on a challenge to demonstrate her skills. Though the odds are against her, she has a hidden talent that ensures no one will ever underestimate her on the beach again, especially when it comes to her volleyball abilities.
