"Nasu" is an anthology comprising a sequence of linked tales revolving around recurring figures like Takama, a farmer, and Aya Takashi, a young girl. Initially, Aya is left by her father and lives in Tokyo with her two younger siblings. In the second volume, she moves to the rural area to stay with her relatives, close to Takama's farm. Beyond the narratives concerning Takama and Aya, the manga includes several other stories: one features samurai from the Edo period seeking prohibited eggplant (nasu); another takes place on a futuristic Mount Fuji; there is also a story about a truck driver. Moreover, "Summer in Andalusia" introduces Pepe Benengeli, a professional cyclist from Spain, whose story was adapted into a film.
