Kujou Saburou is a typical yet overly energetic high school boy who loves weird (alien) phenomena. He quickly becomes friends with the transfer student Shima Ango after they meet during a game of hide-and-seek. What Kujou doesn't realize is that Shima is actually a monster slayer responsible for eliminating the mononoke that infest Tokyo. When Kujou stumbles into one of these battles, he panics and accidentally unleashes an Oni that was sealed inside him.

Background

Zone-00 had four volumes published digitally in English by VIZ Media, under the VIZ Select imprint, from November 18, 2014 to January 20, 2015, before they dropped the license. Before this, Tokyopop published the same four volumes from August 1, 2009 to July 13, 2010.
