After retiring from his role as a soldier in a high-tech city, Fay Ryu Kazuhiko finds his peaceful civilian life interrupted when his former boss, General Ko, reaches out to him. Following a cryptic code that leaves a leaf-shaped mark on his hand, Kazuhiko receives a secret assignment: to escort a white-haired girl named Suu, who has evergreen-colored eyes and was discovered singing inside a cage-like structure. Suu says she wants to go to Fairy Park, but Kazuhiko knows little else about her. With the aid of his allies, Lan and Gingetsu, Kazuhiko readies a transport vehicle for the trip. Along the way, he begins to suspect that Suu is far more important than she appears. Their journey grows complicated when Bols—someone Kazuhiku recognizes and who seems determined to capture Suu—pursues them. The hidden reasons behind the secret mission, Suu's true nature, and any potential link between her and Kazuhiko all lead back to one mysterious word: clover.

Background

Clover was published in English by Tokyopop from May 15, 2001 to March 20, 2002 before the company went defunct. The license was then acquired by Dark Horse, who released the title in one complete omnibus volume on May 13, 2009 as well as digitally on May 21, 2014. Kodansha Comics USA later republished all four volumes as one omnibus volume digitally on June 30, 2020 and in print on September 8, 2020. The series has also been released in French by Pika Édition from July 18, 2000 to November 12, 2001 and in German by Carlsen Verlag.
