The delicate high school student Taka journeys to Hokkaido seeking a magical remedy. There, he meets Khoo Fu-Ling, the sovereign of the fairies. Her realm of Ninfidia is besieged by the malevolent Queen Mab, and Taka becomes entangled in the struggle to protect it. The story incorporates elements from the legend of King Arthur and his Round Table, along with fragments of Celtic, Greek, and Ainu mythology.
