In the magical land of Märchenland, where classic fairy tale characters reside, the wicked emperor Pierrot launches an invasion, seeking to steer the world toward its most disastrous outcome. He captures the Cure Decors, which grant power to Queen Royale of Märchenland. As she fades, Royale manages to seal Pierrot away, but his followers begin harvesting Bad Energy from Earth’s inhabitants to bring him back. To defend Märchenland and regain her strength, Royale sends five magical beams to Earth and orders a fairy named Candy to locate five chosen warriors known as the Pretty Cures. Upon arriving in Nanairogaoka, Candy meets Miyuki Hoshizora, a transfer student who soon discovers she can transform into Cure Happy. Joined by her new friends—Akane Hino, Yayoi Kise, Nao Midorikawa, and Reika Aoki—who become Cure Sunny, Cure Peace, Cure March, and Cure Beauty, Miyuki and her comrades band together as Smile Precure!. Their quest is to recover the Cure Decors, liberate Märchenland, and safeguard everyone’s smiles.
