In "Alien Nine," sixth-grader Yuri Otani is chosen to be part of the "Alien Party" at Elementary School 9, alongside her classmates Kumi Kawamura and Kasumi Tomine. The team's mission is to capture any extraterrestrials that show up on school grounds, preferably without injuring them. They are guided by their teacher, Ms. Megumi Hisakawa, and helped by "Borg" creatures—protective alien lifeforms that attach to their hosts' heads. Yuri's biggest challenge in serving on the Alien Party comes from her intense fear of aliens. She tends to faint or freeze in panic at the sight of them, which hinders her ability to do her duty. Consequently, Kumi, Kasumi, and even Yuri's own Borg have to compensate for her shortcomings. Ms. Hisakawa explains that the girls can enhance their performance by achieving better synchronization with their Borgs. However, there may be a secret motive behind the creation of the Alien Party and the connection between the girls and their Borgs.

Alien 9 was published in English as Alien Nine by Central Park Media from May 1, 2003 to September 10, 2003 and in Russian by Comics Factory in 2010. The series was republished in one volume on May 2003 under the title Alien 9 Complete.
