In the year 305 of the Alcian era, society is controlled entirely by "Counts"—numerical values assigned to individuals based on different accomplishments and traits, like the number of kilometers traveled or the number of compliments received for one's cooking. If a person's Count drops to zero, they are sentenced to the Abyss. After her mother's Count reaches 0, Hina sets out on a journey to find the Legendary Red Baron, following her mother's last wish.
