Kuro no Shishi

Kuro no Shishi, an early work by Go Nagai, is a gritty historical tale set during the 16th century. The story centers on Shishimaru, a skilled but low-ranking ninja, who confronts Ginnai Doma, an immortal samurai who can survive even dismemberment. Ginnai's brutal killing of Shishimaru's comrades sparks their confrontation. The series oddly mixes its historical backdrop with anachronistic technology like machine guns, lasers, robots, and atomic reactors.
