In a fantasy world, the narrative follows Emiya, a young warrior who wields both magic and sword. The powerful Guroman Empire invades and conquers the kingdom of Kukurit, though the exact time and location remain unspecified. As part of a peace deal, the two realms exchange their third prince and princess. Emiya, the third princess of Guroman, is secretly raised as a member of a noble family in Kukurit. As she matures, she becomes a spoiled high school student. Even though she is favored by Prince Pirar of Guroman, Emiya is forced to flee after backing Kukurit's rebellion against harsh rule. The skilled swordsman Jimba rescues her, and they escape into the wilderness. Simultaneously, the mysterious Tanbara Gai gathers the people of Kukurit to revolt against Guroman's control. Emiya then aligns herself with their cause.
