Kubei was an ordinary pencil-pusher who spent his days at a desk job, despising his boss and delivering terrible speeches. After pulling an all-nighter, he dozed off—and when he woke, he found himself strapped to a chair, confronted by three eerie women in robes, inhabiting a body far too young and far too feeble to be his own. As his mind cleared, he realized he was no longer in the universe he knew. He had been transported to the Kingdom of Helius, where a dominant church governs the land and wages war on the shadowy faction known only as Mages. Equipped with an insufferably arrogant neural interface that never shuts up and his own raw cunning, our protagonist will find himself fighting not just for survival—but perhaps for something far greater than himself.
