Kenji Koiso, a teenage math prodigy who works part-time as an OZ moderator, is surprised when Natsuki Shinohara—the most popular girl at his school—asks him to accompany her on a summer trip. When they arrive at her family's estate for her grandmother's 90th birthday celebration, Kenji is asked to pose as Natsuki's fiancé. Shortly afterward, he receives a mysterious coded message on his phone, daring him to unlock its meaning. Using his remarkable mathematical talent, Kenji decodes the 2,056-character cipher in a single night, unwittingly triggering a sequence of events that will throw his world into turmoil.
