Marshmallow Bungaku Girl

In the latter part of the Meiji period, as Japan embraces modernization, Mone Hoshino attends a private all-girls high school in Tokyo while living under the supervision of a male guardian. Although society expects women to be elegant and reserved in order to secure a husband, Mone's genuine passion lies in literature. Since writing is considered inappropriate for females, Mone adopts a masculine look by cropping her hair and wearing boys' clothing, then joins an all-male literature club. This choice leads to some friction, yet the bonds she forges within the club help nurture her writing abilities and encourage her to venture across the city on various adventures.
