A newly discovered tenth planet named Lametal is headed for a catastrophic collision with Earth on September 9, 1999. Although Lametal will survive the impact, Earth will be completely wiped out. Yayoi, the daughter of Lametal's queen, is sent to kidnap many humans to turn them into slaves. While carrying out this mission, she forms a close bond with an orphaned boy named Hajime, leading her to start questioning her mother's true intentions. Together with her new human allies, Yayoi rebels against Lametal's plan and searches for a way to prevent Earth's destruction.
