Summary
Hana Asakura serves as the protagonist of Hiroyuki Takei’s manga Funbari no Uta, a story set in 2007. He is the six-year-old son of Yoh Asakura and Anna Kyoyama. While his parents are away traveling with Ryu, Hana resides under the guardianship of Tamao Tamamura. He appears exclusively in the special chapter Funbari no Uta, where he teams up with Ryu to search for a specific individual. During this time, Hana is seen wielding the Futsunomitama, also known as the Antiquity in the English anime, suggesting he may possess the ability to summon a Giant Over Soul similar to his father’s. Tamao is initially presented as his mother, but it is clarified that she is merely a temporary guardian waiting for Yoh and Anna to return. Hana is kept in the dark about his true parentage until his parents come back, at which point Tamao reveals her identity as an enka singer. By the final chapter of the KanZenBan manga, Hana knows the truth and greets his father by kicking him in the stomach. The name Hana, meaning flower, is derived from combining the characters from Yoh’s name (Ha) and Anna’s name (Na). Evidence supporting his lineage includes an incident in volume 9 where Yoh and Anna slept together before departing for America for the second round of the Shaman Fight. Additionally, when Yohken asks if he has children, Yoh’s hesitant response is corrected by Amidamaru. In the subsequent series Shaman King: Flowers, Hana reappears as a teenager who utilizes his father’s spirit, Amidamaru. He encounters the current Shaman King Hao, who predicts an interesting event for him before vanishing. Soon after, a young girl who resembles Anna arrives, claiming to be her disciple and Silva’s daughter. She declares she will marry Hana if he can defeat her in combat. Although his exact birthdate remains unknown, it is established that Hana was conceived around the time of the Shaman Fight.
