Summary

Chisame Hasegawa is student number twenty-five, born on February 2, 1989. She has peach hair and pinkish red eyes, with eyesight rated at 1.2. She prefers small, powerful devices like sub-notebook PCs and dislikes useless people and unexpected events. She is not part of any clubs. Chisame is grumpy and unsocial, viewing her classmates as idiots and freaks. She believes Chachamaru and Mana do not belong in the school and finds it illogical for ten-year-old Negi to teach the class. While she avoids attention in the real world, she adopts the persona of Chiu, a famous Net Idol devoted to cosplay, in the privacy of her room. Although she is disturbed by students being openly attracted to or in love with Negi, she eventually grows close to him as he encourages her to interact with the real world. After learning about magic, she reluctantly joins Negi's group. She is extremely skilled with computers, able to hack into large databases with minimal effort. After forming a Pactio with Negi, she gains the artifact Sceptrum Virtuale, a heart-topped staff that allows her to physically enter cyberspace to internally hack systems. She can bring others into this realm while their bodies remain in the real world. She is assisted by virtual spirits named Kincha, Hanpe, Konnya, Chikuwafu, Negi, Daiko, and Shirataki, who communicate with her near electronic devices. These spirits monitor for viral attacks and manipulate data to increase her site's ranking. Her Pactio ability is nearly useless without an internet connection, and her spirits disappear when her laptop battery dies. She also frequently uses her Pactio to transform into various Net-idol cosplay outfits.
