Summary
Manjoume Fumi is a tall, dark-haired girl with glasses who is often perceived by her peers as strong, refined, and gentle. While others admire her pretty eyes and soft, lady-like voice, they are frequently surprised to discover that she is actually quite shy. Despite her mature aura and sometimes foreboding presence, Fumi is a reserved crybaby who is known for making scary faces when she is upset or irked. After moving back to her hometown, she quickly reconnects with Okudaira Akira, a girl from her youth. The two were best friends from the ages of five or six, with Fumi relying heavily on Akira during kindergarten. At that time, Fumi was seen as incapable of doing anything but crying until Akira would come to her rescue. This dynamic has persisted into adulthood, as Akira notes that Fumi has not changed much. Fumi shares a close bond with her older cousin, Chizu, and was reluctant to leave her behind when moving. She harbored deep romantic feelings for Chizu, who was aware of this affection. Consequently, Fumi viewed Chizu’s engagement to someone else as a betrayal of trust, especially since Chizu did not inform her of the news beforehand. Fumi also keeps a secret about her sexuality hidden from most people, though she eventually reveals to Akira that she likes other women. Although she was initially hesitant to come out of the closet, she feels immense relief when Akira accepts her for who she is.
