Summary
Nagato Toosaka served as the head of the Toosaka family during the 1790s. While the Toosaka clan of that era were traditionally hidden Christians who continued to practice their faith despite the prohibition, Nagato and his family were introduced to the world of sorcery after a strange old man appeared out of nowhere and led them astray. During a journey, Nagato first encountered Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg. After Nagato paid the hotel bill, Zelretch taught him some magecraft. Although Nagato was officially considered a pupil, Zelretch viewed him more as a follower whom he looked out for from time to time.
