Nomura, Tomoko

Summary

Born on September 25, 1985, Tomoko Nomura is a student in Eikichi Onizuka's class. Although she possesses an impressive F-cup figure, she is not particularly bright, earning her the nickname Toro-ko, which references her slow nature. This moniker was localized as Slo-mo-ko in the English version. After initially botching a role in Miyabi Aizawa's scheme to get Onizuka fired, she is expelled from Miyabi's group. Recognizing her clumsy demeanor, Onizuka encourages her to enter a local beauty contest, even having two porn producer friends style her for the event. Instead of memorizing her script, she uses action figures to deliver a brilliant improvised performance that inadvertently includes Vice-Principal Uchiyamada. In the anime adaptation, Onizuka tosses a cellphone onto the stage, prompting her to leave a heartfelt message on Miyabi's answering machine. Although she does not win the contest, her performance catches the eye of several television producers, leading to a career in commercials. Her young male manager, who falls in love with her at first sight due to her natural beauty, dedicates his life to ensuring her success. Tomoko has been friends with Urumi Kanzaki since childhood. Their strong bond likely stems from their contrasting personalities; Tomoko is docile and kind-hearted, whereas Urumi is highly intellectual and capable of cruelty. A manga side-story titled GTO, which stands for Great Tomoko Oppai, follows Tomoko and her manager as they navigate a chaotic adventure to protect her from questionable producers. In the live-action series, rather than achieving dramatic success in later episodes, she leaves to attend an acting school in Okinawa.
