Nakanishi, Daiki
Summary
Daiki Nakanishi is a member of the Seishū High School baseball club and a classmate of Kō and Akaishi. He harbors romantic feelings for Kō, though their relationship has been strained since elementary school. The tension stems from an incident where Kō convinced Nakanishi and his friends to purchase a large amount of new baseball equipment from the Kitamura store. As retribution, Nakanishi compelled Kō to learn the fundamentals of baseball beyond just hitting. Although he joined the baseball club during junior high, he quit after only three months following a violent altercation with seniors who were neglecting their duties. Despite leaving the team, he continued to train on his own. In high school, Nakanishi rejoined the baseball club but, similar to Kō and Akaishi, he bypassed the placement test and was assigned to the prefab team. Originally a catcher in his youth, he began his high school career as the first baseman before moving to third base when Azuma took over the first base position.
