Summary
Daigorou Ookuma was originally a student of Katsu Kaishuu, Katsu Itsuko’s father, but was cast out for displaying cowardice. He subsequently found a home at the Kamiya dojo, where Kaoru Kamiya took him on as an apprentice and taught him swordsmanship. During his time there, Daigorou formed a friendship with Yahiko, who admired Daigorou’s academic pursuits and even began reading science books that Daigorou lent him. Daigorou harbored romantic feelings for Katsu Itsuko and held deep respect for Katsu Kaishuu. One of his most prized possessions was a book by Jules Verne, a gift from Katsu Kaishuu who deemed it essential reading for anyone interested in exploring the sciences.
