Summary
Miiko serves as the energetic protagonist of the series, a fifth-grader whose petite stature often leads people to mistake her for a kindergartner. Her most notable trait is her love for food, which causes her to gain weight easily, a recurring source of conflict in many episodes. She shares a close bond with her best friends, Mari Shimura, affectionately known as Mari-Chan, and Yuuko Ogawa. Miiko frequently spends time with them, though she also engages in frequent bickering with a boy named Tappei. Although Tappei harbors feelings for her, his shy nature prevents him from expressing them directly, leading him to call her names instead, which often irritates Miiko.
