Summary
Meena served as a loyal attendant in Prince Soma’s household, acting as a supportive maternal figure when his parents were absent. Soma held her in high regard until she departed India to marry Lord West, an Englishman who desired her as his wife. This development prompted Soma to travel to England in search of her. During his visit, Lord West manipulated the culinary skills of Agni, known as the "Right Hand of God" for his curry-making prowess, by forcing him to cook in a contest under duress. Lord West promised to restore Meena’s cheerful demeanor in front of Soma in exchange for Agni’s victory, a deception designed to hide Meena’s true nature from the prince. It was ultimately revealed that Meena had not been abducted but had chosen to leave of her own volition. She sought to escape the confines of India, exhausted by the burden of caring for Soma and unwilling to remain a servant for the rest of her life due to the restrictions of her caste.
