Summary
Sailor Lead Crow is the third member of the Sailor Animamates to make her appearance. In the anime adaptation, she operates under the human alias Akane Karasuma, a name derived from the Japanese term for a specific shade of red, which sounds identical to "lead," and the word for "crow." The Tokyopop English localization of the manga rendered her name as Red Crow. Her debut in the manga occurs in Act 45 at the temple of Rei Hino, where she confronts the Coronian guardians Phobos and Deimos, who are secretly the protectors of the Princess of Mars. She successfully steals their starseeds by employing Galactica Tornado, but is ultimately destroyed by Sailor Moon’s Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss. Following her defeat, Galaxia arrives and claims the Sailor Crystals of Sailor Venus and Sailor Mars. It is disclosed that Sailor Lead Crow was responsible for killing the Sailor Senshi of her home world, Sailor Coronis. Reference materials indicate that, in addition to Galactica Tornado, she possesses the ability to manipulate rot and is characterized as a sadist. In the anime, Lead Crow debuts in Episode 182 as the partner of Aluminum Siren. Although she is identified as the leader of the Animamates and refers to her partner as her "greatest rival," she deeply cares for her fellow Animamate. When Aluminum Siren is killed, Lead Crow attempts to continue their shared mission, and Siren’s death leaves a lasting impact on her, causing her to frequently reflect on her fallen comrade. She harbors a strong dislike for Tin Nyanko but is forced to partner with her temporarily. This alliance ends in tragedy when Tin Nyanko sabotages a trap, causing Lead Crow to be killed by her own device.
