Summary
Sawako Kuronuma is a shy and honest fifteen-year-old girl, born on December 31, who stands 158 cm tall and weighs 44 kg with Type O blood. Guided by the motto of performing one good deed per day, she desperately seeks friendship but struggles due to her striking resemblance to the horror film character Sadako. Her modesty and reluctance to correct misconceptions lead most of her school to mistakenly believe her name is Sadako. Fortunately, the kind and open nature of Kazehaya helps her gradually open up to her classmates and interact with others more freely. With the assistance of Kazehaya, Yano, and Yoshida, Sawako slowly builds a circle of friends. She feels deeply grateful to Kazehaya, initially even worshipping him for creating the opportunities that allowed her to form close bonds with Yano, Yoshida, Kazehaya, and Ryu. The group observes that Sawako’s feelings for Kazehaya may surpass the affection Yano and Yoshida hold for him. Physically, Sawako is quite short, a trait she shares with her father, but she possesses surprising speed, a fact revealed during a soccer match at the school’s sports festival. When Yano and Yoshida visit her home for the first time, Yoshida notes that Sawako’s lips and figure resemble her mother’s, while her other features look like her father’s. A recurring gag in her life is her tendency to take what people say literally and over-analyze situations, which often intimidates those around her when she becomes deep in thought.
