Summary
Yaoki is a ninja from Sunagakure who serves as a subordinate to Gaara, working alongside his partner Korobi. He exhibits a cowardly and timid demeanor in Gaara’s presence, likely due to the latter’s former reputation as a murderous maniac. Following the restoration of ties between Konoha and Suna, Yaoki was assigned to a team with Gaara to eliminate a group of bandits operating between the two villages, a mission that also involved Team 7. When an assassination squad from Suna captured Gaara, he instructed Yaoki and Korobi to flee, claiming the pursuers were only after him. Naruto encountered the pair and noticed Gaara’s absence, questioning why they had abandoned their friend. This prompted Yaoki and Korobi to reflect on whether they truly considered Gaara a friend. They ultimately assisted Naruto in rescuing Gaara, affirming their friendship to him. Upon the successful completion of the mission, Gaara inquired about their earlier statement, and they happily confirmed that they were indeed his friends.
