Kaidou, Kio

Kaidou, Kio

Summary

Kio serves as a friend and classmate to Soubi, with both characters being art students. In volume 6, he tells Ritsuka that he is likely Sou-chan's only friend. The narrative makes it clear that Kio is homosexual, filling much of his early dialogue with flirtations and advances toward Soubi, which are consistently ignored or indirectly rejected. Although he initially appears to exist solely to lighten the atmosphere in an otherwise dark story, he gradually gains depth and justifies his presence as the plot progresses. Kio becomes a vocal advocate for pacifism and self-worth, which stands in stark contrast to Soubi’s submissive nature and willingness to accept violent treatment and control from specific individuals. Furthermore, Kio’s views align closely with those of Ritsuka, creating a unified perspective that dominates the narrative tone.
