Wei, Wuxian

Wei, Wuxian

Summary

Wei Wuxian, born on October 31, is the central protagonist of the series. The only son of Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze, he initially joined the Jiang Clan of Yunmeng after his parents perished during a Night Hunt, an event that led Jiang Fengmian to bring him to Lotus Pier. There, he was raised alongside Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli, effectively becoming a son to Jiang Fengmian and a brother to his children. Known as an intelligent, bright, and optimistic cultivator with a mischievous yet good-hearted nature, his true strength lies not in conventional cultivation methods but in his inventive genius for creating new spiritual techniques and artifacts. His journey took him to Cloud Recesses to study under the Lan Clan of Gusu, where he frequently clashed with the strict regulations. After being punished by Lan Wangji for copying the 3000 rules, he was expelled from the sect for punching Jin Zixuan, having overheard the latter speak disrespectfully about Jiang Yanli. He subsequently returned to Yunmeng to resume his training. Wei Wuxian later founded the Demonic Path, adopting the title of Yiling Patriarch and wielding the sword Suibian, the flute Chenqing, and other weapons empowered by Demonic energy. His life ended during the First Siege of the Burial Mounds, thirteen years before the main narrative begins. Through a sacrificial ritual, his soul was summoned into the body of Mo Xuanyu. He then embarked on a journey with Lan Wangji to uncover the origins of a mysterious left arm, during which their bond deepened into love. Despite his formidable reputation, Wei Wuxian harbors a deep-seated fear of dogs stemming from traumatic street experiences after his parents' death. He also possesses a fondness for spicy food and a specific preference for Emperor's Smile of Gusu.
