Kusanagi, Godou

Summary

Godou Kusanagi serves as the protagonist of the series and stands as one of the rare Campione, a group consisting of only seven individuals. Before becoming a divine slayer, he was a middle school baseball player who had already retired from the sport. His life changed dramatically when his grandfather requested that he deliver a stone tablet to a friend in Sardinia named Lucretia Zola. During this mission, Godou encountered and killed Verethragna, a Persian deity of Victory. Because of a specific curse, any mortal who kills a god inherits that deity’s powers, thereby becoming a Campione. Through this process, Godou acquired the abilities associated with the ten forms of Verethragna, which include the Wind, Bull, White Stallion, Camel, Boar, The Youth, Raptor, Ram, Goat, and The Warrior. While each of these forms grants him distinct powers, every ability comes with a specific condition required for activation. Despite the fact that maintaining a harem is considered a privilege for Campione, Godou feels deeply uncomfortable with the romantic competition between Erica, Yuri, and Liliana. He actively attempts to create distance between himself and the three girls to avoid the situation.
