Chiba, Saori
Seiyuu / Dub
Summary
Saori Chiba, affectionately known as Saorin, begins the series as a fifth-grader in Shuuichi’s class. From the outset, she actively encourages Shuuichi to cross-dress, notably purchasing an expensive dress for his birthday, only to be deeply displeased when he returns it. Socially reserved and struggling to connect with peers, she maintains a very small circle of friends, with Shuuichi being her closest companion. Saori is characterized by her blunt communication style, often speaking her mind without regard for how her words might be received. As she matures, she grows increasingly standoffish and stoic, even developing strained relationships with her teachers. Despite a somewhat self-centered demeanor, her physical attractiveness keeps her popular among the boys in her class. Beneath this exterior lies a sensitive nature; her temper frequently flares when she reprimands bullies who tease Shuuichi about his femininity and cross-dressing. Her feelings for Shuuichi leave her emotionally vulnerable to situations involving him. Influenced by these emotions, she converts to Christianity in an attempt to seek forgiveness for her past behavior, though she attends mass primarily when overwhelmed by guilt.
