Summary
Prince Dimande, known as Prince Diamond in the English dub, serves as the ruler of Planet Nemesis in the 30th century. Originally hailing from a penal colony, he initially seeks to negotiate with Neo-Queen Serenity, clarifying that his people are descendants of criminals rather than criminals themselves. However, Wiseman gradually manipulates the young prince, hardening his stance toward the inhabitants of Earth. During an assault on Crystal Tokyo, Dimande encounters Neo-Queen Serenity and becomes captivated by her, particularly fascinated by the anger reflected in her eyes during their brief interaction. Throughout all iterations of Sailor Moon, including the musicals, Dimande’s intense fixation on the Neo-Queen ultimately compels him to abduct her past self and attempt to brainwash her using his third eye to serve as his Queen. In the anime adaptation, Sailor Moon is rescued from Dimande’s castle by Tuxedo Mask, whereas in the manga, she manages to save herself along with Ami, Rei, and Makoto.
