Summary
Ms. Chono, who is called Miss Lynn Madusa in the English localization of the Dungeon Dice Monsters video game, serves as a teacher at Domino High School. She holds the grim title of "The Wicked Witch of Expel," a nickname earned because she expelled fifteen students within a six-month period. Her striking beauty is entirely an illusion created by a heavy layer of makeup that hides her true, hideous face. She has a penchant for dating men only to dump them cruelly for the pleasure of watching them cry, revealing her nature as an extreme sadist. In the manga, her rage boils over after being dumped by a boyfriend before she could end things herself. She vents this anger on her class through a desk check, hoping to find contraband like cigarettes, lipsticks, or condoms to justify expelling students for possessing "cool" items. She discovers a love jigsaw puzzle on Miho’s desk and asks for its owner, falsely claiming she might forgive the sender if they confess, while secretly planning to expel them regardless. Yugi, Jonouchi, and Honda all claim responsibility, prompting Chono to solve the puzzle to identify the giver. Dark Yugi transforms the item into a Game of Darkness. As she pieces the puzzle together, her face begins to fracture. Upon completion, her beautiful facade shatters, exposing her ugly visage to the laughing class. Humiliated, she flees, declaring the incident never happened and vowing revenge on anyone who reveals her secret. In the anime adaptation, the puzzle was originally intended for Jonouchi from a girl named Mayumi, but Anzu crafted it because Mayumi did not know what to give him. When Anzu complains about the school's strictness, Chono tasks her with gathering signatures for a petition requesting looser rules. Chono then orders boys to destroy Anzu’s signature sheet. Dark Yugi challenges Chono to a game involving two mirrors and a blindfold. After she cheats by removing the blindfold, her face cracks to reveal her ugly appearance. She makes a brief appearance in episode 12 alongside Ryuichi Fuha, where her face is cracked again.
