Yukishiro, Enishi

Summary

As an infant, Enishi lost his mother and was subsequently raised by his elder sister, Tomoe, who served as both mother and sibling figure. He developed a deep affection for her. When Tomoe engaged herself to Kiyosato Akira, Enishi reluctantly approved of the match, recognizing that Kiyosato brought genuine happiness to his sister. Kiyosato later joined the Mimawarigumi, believing that becoming a hero would please the melancholic Tomoe, but he was ultimately slain by Hitokiri Battōsai (Himura Kenshin) in the name of the new era. Devastated, Tomoe abandoned her brother to pursue vengeance with assistance from Shogunate spies. Consumed by profound loneliness, Enishi sought to return Tomoe to Edo, now known as Tokyo, so that they could finally be reunited.
