Eclair, Christopher
Summary
Christopher Eclair makes his debut in Battle 146 as a Sei-type assassin affiliated with Yami's Assassination Division. He is a master of Savate and utilizes the Satsujin Ken technique. Eclair possesses a distinctly effeminate appearance and hairstyle, frequently leading people to mistake him for a woman. His attire consists of grey hair, a dark red coat, white gloves, blue pants, and dark boots. Personality-wise, Eclair is vain and blunt, famously commenting on the dirtiness of Japan upon his arrival. He displays a complete lack of moral restraint, readily employing human shields, particularly the elderly and children. This callous behavior caused friction with Shio Sakaki and Mycroft during their joint operations for the United States. He is also sadistic, claiming to enjoy killing for the fun of it, and has shown no hesitation in kidnapping children like Kenichi or eliminating any obstacles in his path. On missions, he is accompanied by female aides who all wear the same perfume as him. His first major encounter occurred when he was assigned to eliminate Gauche Wynne. Gauche hired Sakaki as his bodyguard while bringing Kenichi along to learn about Yami. Eclair initially attacked Gauche’s limousine but found no one inside. He soon realized Sakaki had moved Gauche to a train to evade him, but Eclair tracked them down and boarded the train. During the ensuing battle, Sakaki was at a disadvantage because Eclair repeatedly used children as shields to distract him. After threatening Kenichi and enraging Sakaki, Eclair was punched off the train but managed to capture Kenichi as a hostage for a trade. The confrontation moved to the twin towers, where Eclair arranged for Sakaki to drop off Gauche at the opposite tower while he held Kenichi in the other. Sakaki disguised Miu as Gauche, dropped her off, and leaped to Eclair’s tower to fight. The battle was interrupted when Gauche distracted Eclair, who then threw him through a window to the street below. Eclair then engaged Kenichi and Miu, who had arrived with Sakaki as backup. He nearly killed them until Sakaki intervened, mistakenly believing Eclair was raping Miu. Sakaki thoroughly pummeled Eclair, defeating him. Eclair was sent to a police hospital but subsequently escaped authorities and left Japan.
