Summary
Yashamaru (夜叉丸) served as a medic-nin and the younger brother of Karura, making him the uncle of Gaara. Initially, Gaara believed Yashamaru was the only person who cared for him, as his uncle taught him about physical pain, emotional suffering, and love—concepts entirely foreign to him during his childhood. The Fourth Kazekage ordered Yashamaru to assassinate Gaara, granting him the choice to accept or refuse the mission. Yashamaru willingly carried out the command to avenge his older sister’s premature death. The attempt turned into a desperate suicide mission that ultimately failed. Before dying, Yashamaru told Gaara that no one had ever truly loved him, not even his uncle. These words left Gaara as emotionally devastated as he already was, and the assassination attempt contributed to Gaara becoming somewhat psychotic. Yashamaru’s final words to Gaara were, "This is it. Please die."
