Luchist Lasso, born in Sicily, Italy, on June 1, 1949, serves as the founder and former leader of the X-laws, positioning himself as one of the most potent shamans operating under Hao’s command. He acts as the primary rival to Marco, with their connection rooted in a past life where they were close friends and fellow car dealers before Hao’s intervention forever altered their fates. This backstory is exclusive to the manga, as the anime omits their prior relationship. Following the demise of X-III, Luchist pursues Yoh to the X-laws’ headquarters, aiming to re-enter the Shaman Fight after relinquishing his spot to revive Ren. During the conflict between Yoh, Marco, and X-II, Luchist intervenes on Hao’s behalf, swiftly defeating X-II before engaging Marco. Although he overwhelms Marco, Lyserg and Yoh, aided by Jeanne, destroy his Oversoul, causing him to lose consciousness. His final known appearance occurs on the Mu continent, where he attempts to block Yoh and his allies from entering the plant structures. Though the confrontation is not depicted, both he and Marco are confirmed dead by Lyserg’s mention of reviving him in the subsequent chapter. His Spirit is Lucifer, a fallen angel Archangel capable of shattering souls and moving at undetectable speeds. Like other Archangels, Lucifer demands significant Furyoku, a requirement evidenced when Luchist fainted after his Oversoul was destroyed.
