Summary
Yayo is a creature remarkably attuned to auditory cues, sprinting toward the sound of a coin dropping to the floor to retrieve it with its teeth. Possessing an exceptional sense of smell, it can detect food from great distances, a trait often utilized to locate missing individuals like Miurasan. However, its utility is frequently compromised by its susceptibility to distraction from the scent of food or the clink of coins. Yayo is also a skilled swimmer capable of catching fish bare-handed, much like a bear. The creature was discovered and named by Takane, making its debut in Chapter 7. Its vocalizations consist of sounds like "Un-uun!" and "Uun!" Seasonally, Yayo’s hair grows excessively long and unruly in winter, while a bamboo shoot emerges from its head in spring, which can be harvested and regrows immediately.
