Summary
Esal serves as the Reverend of Teachers at Kazalm and is a longstanding friend of John, who is Erin’s foster father. She played a supportive role in Erin’s time at the institution and entrusted Erin with the care of Lilan, reasoning that Erin’s prior experience witnessing the breeding of a wild Ohju family made her uniquely suited for the task. Esal also recognized that Lilan viewed Erin as her mother. Acting in a maternal capacity, Esal continues to look out for Erin as a foster mother.
