Summary
Euntae Lee, also known as Vasco, is an eighteen-year-old Korean male and a central supporting character in the webtoon Lookism. He serves as the leader of the Burn Knuckles and is a student in the architecture department at J High School. Physically, Euntae possesses a well-built, toned physique with pale skin, jet-black hair styled with a center part and sides reaching his ears, and dark, narrow eyes. His appearance is marked by facial hair above his lips and a thin tuft on his chin, along with tattoos on his chest and arms that were placed there to conceal more vulgar ink from his middle school days. Despite his intimidating and menacing look, Euntae is fundamentally pure-hearted and innocent. He is deeply compassionate, caring intensely for those who are mistreated by society and willing to risk his life to protect them. He believes that respect should be earned through actions rather than appearance. While he is strong-willed and headstrong, he is surprisingly sensitive and delicate when emotionally upset, often breaking down in tears when he feels misunderstood or rejected, such as when he was overlooked at the Auction or when people viewed him as a fool. He values his bonds with friends, particularly Jace, and harbors a strong respect for teachers and higher authorities like Goo and his master Brendak. Euntae’s motivations are rooted in his past experiences with bullying and self-hatred. He originally sought to become a superhero to save the weak and those who cannot fend for themselves. However, his intense self-obsession with becoming a better person led him to a twisted conclusion that anyone associated with wrongdoing is inherently bad. This shift in perspective transformed him into a self-proclaimed villain, leading him to tell Jace that to defeat the bad guys, he must become one himself.
