Summary
Spandam serves as the head of CP9 and previously led CP5. During his tenure with CP5, he tried to seize the blueprints for the weapon Pluton from the shipwright Tom. Although Spandam failed in this objective, his actions directly resulted in Tom’s imprisonment. Later, as the leader of CP9, he orchestrated the capture of Franky and Nico Robin, transporting them to Enies Lobby. Spandam is ultimately defeated by Nico Robin, who breaks his back while the Straw Hat crew escapes across the Bridge of Hesitation. He possesses a sword named Funk Freed, which consumed the Zou Zou no Mi (Elephant Elephant Fruit) Devil Fruit, granting it the power to transform into an elephant.
